Chief Minister Oomen Chandy Inaugurates the 6th IDSFFK


The sixth International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala, to open its eyes today to the world of spectacular social, cultural and political diversity around the globe. The five day festival will be inaugurated today at 6.30 pm in the Kairali theatre complex, by Oomen Chandy, the Chief Minister of Kerala .The Health Minister V .S Sivakumar will preside over the function. Renowned documentary maker and the Green Oscar Award winner Mike Pandey is the chief guest of the ceremony. Film critic and theoretician Noel Burch , secretary of cultural affairs Rani George , Chalachitra Academy Vice chairman Gandhimathi Balan will be present during the occasion. The noted Palestinian film,'Five Broken Cameras' is the inaugural film of the festival. The film will be screened again on 9th of June in the Kairali theatre at 9pm.The screening of the films will begin in the morning at 9am at the theatres Kairali, Nila and Sree. The film festival comes to an end on 11th of this month.
